So, i tried my new projects of frugal gardening, urban farming, urban gardening and kitchen scraps gardening... I already started since last january, but the results are just coming in last march, so i havent been able to write much.
One of the things that i am so happy for is my success in growing snake fruit from seed to seedlings. The seed that i planted was from snake fruit that i ate. And below is what it looked like after i soaked it for a few days in fresh water.
So they will have something popped out from the seed. After that, i planted with the pop facing upward. After quite q while, pinkish stalk starting to grow out from below the soil.
And growing continuously, making you wonder what they are actually doing.
And then something emerged from inside those pink stalks. I was guessing those are leaves. It looked like a closed spanish fan, it will open up while growing.
And continue growing, and now they have leaves!
So i decided to give the first seedlings to my mom. I carry it with me to Bandung and plant it there. One of the seed is already grown in used plastic glass (ex-mineral water glass), so it was easy to carry. Then i prepared the new pot and soil to plant them.
Then i fill up a bit of soil into the pot, and my snake fruit seedlings ready to be repotted.
You can see that the roots already circling the bottom of the plastic glass, indocating its eagerness to grow.
A few minutes later then the snake fruit is ready for display...
We'll see how it grows :)
