​i bought this fiber about 1-2 years ago. I think it’s a mix of merino and (recycled) silk. 

Never again. 

I hate recycled silk.

TdF day 1

I finished spinning last night 2 AM. So technically, it'll be day 2 already :p

I managed to finish 2:2 brown to orange.

Started to see where the mistakes may show up. Starting to see issues that i havent find the solution yet. Knowing where's my weakness. So, i think i should be able to manage better today.

- I think i shouldnt spin a long single, perhaps 1 meter or less should be ideal due to my height. Numerous time i drafted too long and to find out that dear bossie is standing on the floor. I found out that if i spin ghe single too long, the fiber would be weaker and i made it too fragile for the loop.

- it's ok to make several loop if you think that pulling and enhancing the loop may increase the possibility of breaking the yarn.

Tour de Fleece - testing waters part 2

Omg.... I really like the test result!!!!

I changed colors and it just happens... And the plied result looks so squishy, so cute so b-e-a-utiful....

It's also easy to "test" the tension. And my, i do see the point of why the singles has to be stable enough. The single cant be too weak since it has to support the loop. Once i plied, i can immediately see the result. I think i may look like i am fangirling...

Cant wait to try and wash this sample :D

I am checking the feel of the wool and trying out the new method...

Half an hour of cursing on the videos, i finally got the hang of it (well, approximately...)

Later this lunch time break, i'll try to bring in the other color...

I am trying to "fix" my first spun yarn.

It's so overly twisted. I have felted it so i am not sure if i can still mend this yarn to slightly more normal. But... I dunno... 

We'll see...
