Scorpion queen, the handspun project

I just got my bosworth Purpleheart spindle. So beautiful, light and strong at the same time. I tried to use it for my Scorpio World of Wool (Merino + Flax), and the result is quite nice. It looks much smoother with less flying fibers. Nevertheless, I'll try again later on my hilltop's spindle. I think I should be able to manage the fly byes by using different drafting method.

I love my purpleheart spindle.

And this is comparison between purpleheart and hilltop spindle

Black jacob start!

Trying to play with black jacob.

So, a while ago, I bought around 1 kg of fibers. One of it is T188 Black Jacob (uncolored, unbleached) from World of wool.

This is what is called FRESH wool. It felt soft in my hands, compared to the merino from knitpicks and my first falkland sheep organic fiber. I don't feel any dryness on my hands even when I spin it continuously. I love it!

Compared to merino, i think black jacob is a bit curlier and shorter. It takes more spin to make the fibers stay and set in. But I feel like the fiber is much friendlier than merino, it doesn't break easily, even on thin yarn, so I guess the fiber is thicker than merino.

We'll see how to finish this 100 gram of jacob.

Detoxing

Had no appetite to knit, so i decided to knit another nightsongs. And it's already finished without much issue... I just need to block it.

Second hand spun

Finally finished my second 100 grams of handspun. Made from Knitpicks full circle roving, 100% wool, blend of merino, fine highland, and highland wool. I chose the espresso color (now they are already in goodbye sale in knitpicks).

After i finished the singles, i plied them S wise and now i have 2 spindles of yarn.

I still need to bathe them.
